Barcelona is yet to win something but they will surely get one silverware as they face Alves in final of Copa Del Rey. Messi finished top scorers in La Liga this season but the problem this season was an aging midfield with Iniesta and Busquets.
So their new manager Ernesto Valverde want to buy a midfielder who is hard working and help break play of the opponents and starts quick counters so he found his no.1 priority - Ander Herrera of Manchester United.

Ander Herrera knows Valverde very well as he worked with him at Athletic Bilbao where he lost a final in UEFA Europa League in 2013.
Ander Herrera has just won Player Of The Season Award for Manchester United dethroning David De Gea who is also wanted by Barça rivals Real Madrid. So basically if you win Player Of the Year at Manchester United then you're in a bit of dilemma.
As for Manchester United, they have rubbished these rumours by saying that Ander is going to sign new contract in just few weeks.
So we will have to wait until he officially sign the contract offered by Manchester United to be sure that he will stay at Old Trafford next season.
Till then Barça can doing anything possible to try convince him to join Camp Nou.
